St. Pete Triathlete Swim Program
The ST. PETE TRIATHLETE FITNESS PROGRAM, a year-round program welcomes swimmers of all abilities. The Stroke Improvement and Swimming Practices welcomes any swimmer who wants to improve overall fitness, develop better technique, train for a triathlon, consider competition, or is just attracted to the water for any reason, is a perfect fit for the ST. PETE TRIATHLETE FITNESS PROGRAM. The major aim of the program is the promotion of physical fitness through swimming.
The St. Pete Triathlete Fitness Program is coached by Joe Biondi. Joe Biondi has been coaching adult athletes for over 30 years and is one of the best stroke technique coaches in the country. Joe has coached many Master's and Triathlete's to top ten finishes and top 10 ranking in Florida, United States and the World. To enhance the swimming experience and develop a efficient stroke that makes the swimmer faster in the aquatic environment a multitude of stroke drills are used to improve stroke technique.
Practices are conducted at the St. Pete, North Shore Aquatic Complex located at 901 North Shore Dr. North East, St. Petersburg Florida. Practices are conducted on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Sunday practices will be 2:00 - 3:30 PM. For Directions go to www.floridalmsc.org / maps to pool / St. Pete (North Shore)
The participation fee is $60.00 per month in the summer month and $66.00 per month in the winter months (there is an additional %10 fee, in the winter months to help offset the heating cost). This fee covers Tuesday and Thursday practices only.
The following programs are designed to allow for those that have a very busy schedule and are not able to attend on a regular basis, but would like to get a break on the drop in fee. The participation fee is $30.00 ($33.00 for the winter months) per month and includes 4 practices per month, including Sundays. Athletes may choose to attend on the occasion that their busy schedule will allow. For those the drop in fee is $9.00, per visit in the summer and $9.90 in the winter. Both fees include the pool entry fee, coaching fee and the 10% pool heating fee, in the winter months.
The City of St. Petersburg requires participants to purchase a Recreation Card, Resident ($10.00 plus tax) or Non-Resident ($125.00 including tax). Both the resident and Non-Resident cards are good from September 1st through August 31st. The Non-Resident card is pro rated each month from the date of purchase or pay 60% additional each visit.
A participant may attend one session with no coaching fee charged. You will have to pay the city pool entry fee however.
